About Us

The Cambridge Kerala Cultural Association (CKCA) is the first malayali association in Cambridge founded in 2004. We are a vibrant community organisation bringing together individuals of Kerala origin living in and around Cambridge, Haverhill, and the Cambridgeshire region of the United Kingdom.

We are proud to have successfully conducted our recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) and extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated. We also express our sincere appreciation to the dedicated committee members who have agreed to continue serving as part of our executive team for another term. Your unwavering commitment is the backbone of our association's success.

Over the past two years, CKCA has made great strides, thanks to the collective efforts of our members. Our achievements stand as a testament to the teamwork, dedication, and shared vision of every individual involved.

We are also excited to welcome the new members of our executive committee. Together, we look forward to building an even stronger and more inclusive community.

Our Purpose

  • To promote social cohesion and friendship among people of Kerala origin living in Cambridge, Haverhill, and the wider Cambridgeshire region.
  • To provide opportunities for literary, cultural, and entertainment activities that celebrate our shared heritage by celebrating major festivals of our land such as Onam, Christmas, Vishu and Easter.
  • To preserve and promote the Malayalam language and Kerala's rich cultural traditions.
  • To encourage dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and values that enhance quality of life and foster lasting friendships.
  • To collaborate with similar organisations and associations in areas of common interest.
  • To promote awareness of Keralaโ€™s culture and values within British society and among other ethnic communities through cultural and social activities.
  • To support voluntary activities and extend assistance to those in need. Where appropriate, raise funds for charitable initiatives as decided by the general body or executive committee.
